Description

OpenStreetsPGH is a free community event that opens miles of city streets for people to walk, run, bike, and explore spaces that would otherwise be used by motor vehicles.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

Hub Volunteers (morning or afternoon shift) - help set up or tear down the remaining tents, supplies, and work with BikePGH staff to share info, sell merchandise, chat about BikePGH's mission, and get OpenStreetsPGH participants to fill out our event survey.

Intersection Heroes - Work in a team and direct participants at an intersection along the route using fun supplies like foam hands and pool noodles. The main responsibility is to keep OpenStreetsPGH participants out of the intersections while car traffic passes through. There will be BikePGH staff and Public Safety working with you.

Kids Hub Volunteers - Set up and run bike education activities for kids alongside BikePGH staff.

Safety Volunteers (morning or afternoon shift) - Morning shift removes "no parking" signage and will assist with mandatory dismount sections for scheduled activity hub. Afternoon shift volunteers will assist with announcements/clearing the streets starting at 1:45pm.

To volunteer please follow this link to the sign up form and RSVP through the Pittsburgh Cares website.
