Celebration Dinner Volunteers

Each year, Trying Together recognizes April as the Month of the Young Child (MOYC) to uplift the incredible work of early childhood educators.

This year, MOYC will culminate on Thursday, April 30 at Rivers Casino with Celebrating Together, an evening of formal events including a VIP Reception to present the inaugural Governor Josh Shapiro Keystone Award for Early Childhood Advocacy, followed by the 30th Annual Celebration of Early Childhood Educators Dinner.

We are seeking friendly, service-oriented volunteers to support this event as greeters, register-to-win basket attendants, and flower bar station attendants.

Can your organization help us to secure these volunteers? If so, please let us know as soon as possible if your organization can assist with filling any of these positions. All volunteers must be over the age of 21 and be prepared to present valid ID at Rivers Casino.

Volunteer Shifts: 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Volunteer Positions:


Greeters | 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. | Need: Five (5) Volunteers - Responsible for greeting attendees, showing them to registration (as needed), and coordinating with the registration table to communicate information to attendees.


Register-To-Win Attendants | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. | Need: 12 Volunteers - Responsible for assisting attendees with tearing tickets and advising which part to keep, monitoring baskets and ensuring stanchions are in place, and assisting Trying Together staff with transcribing winning tickets on posters and for viewing on digital screens via pre-populated areas in a PowerPoint slide.


Flower Bar Station Attendants | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. | Need: 12 Volunteers - Responsible for collecting attendee flower tickets, assisting with selecting a custom decoration choice, and adding attendees’ selected vase with flowers into to-go bags.

All volunteers will be provided with detailed information and brief training. As a thank-you, volunteers will receive special thank you gifts from Trying Together to take with them that evening. If interested, volunteers can sign up by Monday, April 13, 2026.
