As a Greeter, you will be one of the first points of contact for guests entering the shelter. You’ll provide a friendly welcome, help guide visitors through the adoption process, and ensure they feel comfortable and informed during their time at the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome all visitors with warmth and professionalism Provide general information about the adoption process, services, and facility layout
- Direct guests to appropriate areas, including adoption floors, meet-and-greet rooms, or service desks Answer basic questions or connect visitors with staff for more detailed assistance
- Monitor lobby and adoption floor areas to ensure a calm, safe, and positive environment Encourage respectful interactions with animals and promote humane society guidelines
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with the public
- Able to stand and move around for extended periods
- Passion for animal welfare and customer service
Training & Orientation: All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory in-person orientation prior to starting. This session will cover shelter policies, safety procedures, and expectations for the role to ensure you feel confident and prepared.
