Volunteer: Lawrenceville Organic Community Garden VolunteersFor over 10 years, the Lawrenceville Organic Community Garden has provided a beautiful space for all to access in Upper Lawrenceville for gardening, harvesting, relaxing, and simply enjoying the outdoors with friendly folks. The garden is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers and supported by Lawrenceville Corporation. Volunteers are needed from April to November to maintain the garden, either once, sporadically, or consistently. Work days are Wednesday evenings from 5-7 PM and Saturday mornings from 10 AM-12 PM. The work often takes the form of planting, weeding, harvesting, watering, light clean-up of the general area, etc. Accommodations can be made based on people's abilities and the garden's needs. Volunteer: Lawrenceville Friday Food Distribution -- Drivers NeededLU and our fantastic weekly volunteers run a weekly Friday food distribution that delivers free boxes of food to over 30 households all around Pittsburgh! We are always looking for additional driver volunteer support. You would be helping deliver about 4-5 boxes to food-insecure neighbors who don't have a vehicle. All you need is a car, about an hour of your time anytime between 1 to 2:00 PM, and a big heart! Email food@lunited.org or call 412-802-7220 if you would like to get involved on a Friday afternoon! The Bernard Dog Run has been maintained through volunteer efforts for 12 years, and we are always looking for new people to get involved.
