Volunteer: Annual Fundraiser Event Volunteer

Open Field  is preparing for our 15th Annual event this year with a global theme: Taste of Home and Away on Saturday, October 25th. The cultural event will feature food from around the world, global music, and a silent auction at the Teamster’s Temple in Lawrenceville. To ensure the success of this important fundraiser, we are seeking volunteers to assist with event management: welcoming guests, serving food/drinks, assisting with silent auction, and event set up and clean up. 

We ask folks to be available for a minimum of 3-4 hours to support set up, ensure a great event start, and/or event wrap up and clean up. 

Set up only - 2pm-6pm

Setup / start - 5pm-9pm

Event management / clean up - 7pm-11pm

Fall 2025 Volunteer Coach Mentor for Open Field + Elliott Athletic Association Community League

Commitment: 9/2/2025-10/30/2025 (8 weeks); 2 evenings per week (i.e. M/W or T/TH); 5:30-8:00pm

Mon/Wed: ages 12-14Tues/Thurs: ages 9-11

Training: Saturday, August 23 & Wednesday, August 27

What: Open Field partners with the Elliot West-End Athletic Association for the 4th year in running a community soccer league. This is an in-house recreational soccer league. Youth will be placed onto teams, and participate in 1 practice and 1 game each week (per age group). Open Field implements a trauma-informed approach to coaching, using the game of soccer to teach Social Emotional Learning and Life Skills, along with soccer skills. 


Who: Open Field works largely with youth from immigrant and refugee backgrounds, who will play in the league alongside youth from the wider West End area. Ages 9-14.

Responsibilities: 

Coach a team; this is the main role of volunteers. Each team is assigned 2+ coaches. Open Field staff will provide you with the training, resources, and curriculum you will need to run practices/games. Field set-up/ clean-upCommunicate with Open Field staff about availability, issues or concerns
