Job Title: Information & Planning Volunteer
Location: Southwestern Pennsylvania
Reports To: Information & Planning Team Leader, DCS Southwestern PA
Job Type: Part-time (Volunteer)
Time Commitment: Weekdays between 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; field work may be needed during the first 72 hours of a disaster
Purpose:
Help gather and organize disaster-related data to support planning and decision-making during disaster response and recovery. Your work helps ensure effective service delivery and supports reporting to donors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze disaster data (damage, needs, response effectiveness)
- Support planning activities and help create response strategies
- Use Red Cross technology platforms (e.g., RC View, DSARS) to manage information
- Assist with sharing updates and reports with teams and partners
- Provide planning support during both routine operations and disaster events
Qualifications:
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Respectful of diversity and inclusion
- Willing to work toward a service associate role in Mass Care
- Basic computer and data entry skills preferred

- Data Collection (Form 5266)
- RC View for Viewers (when available)
Commitment:
- Minimum 3-month term preferred
- Can remain active as long as training is kept up to date
