We're excited to invite you to our last volunteer event at the Hazelwood Food Recycling Site of the season! As a key part of our community, your involvement helps us make significant environmental and social impacts through our sustainable initiatives.
This winter we will be highlighting turning and sifting compost, education about thermophilic compost, and helping to construct bins from heat treated pallets.
These events will take place on December 21, January 18, and February 15 from 10 am – 1 pm at 4501 Sylvan Avenue
When you arrive, make sure to pull to the site closest to home rule street (at the end of Sylvan). You will see two large sheds, a bunch of compost bins and portable toilet to help identify the location. Make sure to bring closed toe shoes, long pants, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Insect repellent and sunscreen (if it’s sunny) are also recommended. We will have gloves available, but you’re also welcome to bring your own.
We will also have lunch available, but we encourage you to bring your own water!
