Homeless Children's Education Fund is seeking volunteers to help with our summer programming for K-8th grade students at 2 shelters in the Pittsburgh area this summer. This is a great opportunity to help build kids' confidence in their abilities and prevent learning loss over the summer by helping our instructors deliver a variety of fun, creative educational activities.
Volunteers will assist instructors in the afternoons 1 day per week for the 6 week duration of the program. Program runs either Tues-Wed from 1 to 4 PM or Mon-Thur from 12:30 to 4:30 PM, depending on site location. Volunteers will need to provide PA child abuse, PA background check, and federal background check clearances; we can help you get them, but the program starts soon, so preference will be given to those who already have them.
