The Bernard Dog Run found along the Three Rivers Heritage trail underneath the 40th St Bridge is Pittsburgh's first and only volunteer run dog park. It has been operating for 11 years as a result of neighbors' advocacy for a space that allows dogs to run and enjoy the outdoors.
In order to keep the dog park fresh and welcoming, volunteers participate in monthly clean ups on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9-11 AM. The clean up often involves weeding, laying straw/woodchips and other manual tasks. This is a great way to get to know neighbors and enjoy a Saturday morning with your dogs.
For the clean up, all needed tools will be provided and dogs are always welcome!
