Description

PAAR’s mission is to respond to those impacted by sexual violence through advocacy, education and healing. Our volunteers have a key role in ensuring this support is available to the community by providing crisis support to survivors and their families via the Helpline. Shifts are available 24/7/365 and are done remotely after completing the state-required 40 hours of Sexual Assault Counselor training.

PAAR’s volunteers:

  • Are a diverse and dedicated team at the core of what we do
  • Provide crucial crisis services to survivors and their families
  • Receive training and certification as a Sexual Assault Counselor
  • Gain experience that can guide them in their career or professional pursuits

In addition to confirming your interest here (by selecting "Sign Up") you can learn more or see the dates for our upcoming Sexual Assault Counselor training on the volunteer section of our website. Contact us with questions or inquiries at volunteer@paar.net

PAAR volunteers are required to complete 40 hours of state-mandated Sexual Assault Counselor (SAC) training to work with clients. While our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and expertise, people interested in pursuing counseling, social work, nursing and/or advocacy careers find the SAC training and volunteer opportunities to be particularly informative.
