We're excited to invite you to our next volunteer event at the Hazelwood Food Recycling Site! As a key part of our community, your involvement helps us make significant environmental and social impacts through our sustainable initiatives.
This July we will be highlighting the harvesting of summer crops and planning for fall crops. We will be emphasizing harvesting, weeding, and composting activities. We will be partnering with Solar Array Project to discuss the installation and benefits of the solar array in powering garden operations.
This event will take place on July 20 th from 10 am - 1 pm at 4501 Sylvan Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15207.
When you arrive, make sure to pull to the site closest to home rule street (at the end of Sylvan). You will see two large sheds, a bunch of compost bins and portable toilet to help identify the location. Make sure to bring closed toe shoes, long pants, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty! Insect repellent and sunscreen are also recommended. We will have gloves available, but you’re also welcome to bring your own.
We will also have lunch available, but we encourage you to bring your own water!
By joining us at the Hazelwood site, you'll contribute directly to our mission of sustainability and witness first-hand the difference we're making.
