Join us at Camp Guyasuta, where volunteers will be working on a variety of camp improvement projects, including but not limited to landscaping, log splitting, painting, organizing indoor camper areas, and more. We will also likely be taking a fleet of kayaks out onto the Allegheny River, where a smaller group of volunteers will be participating in litter removal from their kayaks and along the riverfront.
Waiver: All volunteers must complete the volunteer waiver upon registering - click here to access (opens in a new window).
What to Wear: Please wear comfortable, casual clothing that can get dirty. It is highly recommended that volunteers wear closed-toe shoes that they can easily move around in (sneakers or light boots, for example). Project is mostly outdoors - sun and/or rain protection is also suggested.
What to Bring: Refreshments and lunch will be provided, but a reusable water bottle may be handy. We also recommend bringing a light backpack or drawstring bag so you may work "hands-free" if you do not want to leave belongings in your car or on the property.
About Camp Guyasuta: Camp Guyasuta is a hidden gem of a camp located on 124 acres in the Sharpsburg Borough of Pittsburgh. The camp hosts a number of physical activities, team building, leadership, and learning opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.
