Adult Education ONLINE Classroom volunteer assistants needed at Goodwill of Southwestern PA (on Zoom)
Goodwill of Southwestern PA is looking for individuals who enjoy helping others to make an impact in the adult learning community by assisting instructors in the online classroom. We are mainly looking for volunteers who can work with students ONLINE on Social Studies, with direction provided by the classroom teacher. Our students will need help with work in Civics, U.S. History, Government, Politics, World Geography & Economics skills in order to prepare for the GED test to obtain their High School Equivalency diplomas.
Tutors can meet with students 3-4 hours a week. Currently, we have a need for tutors who can meet during the day. Volunteers should have their High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. It would be nice for volunteers to have or be working toward, a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any field, but we just ask that you have a desire to help adult students achieve their educational goals! An interest in the subject matter is always a plus!
We would love to have a volunteer help us for at least 4-6 months, and we can of course work with days you need to be off, vacations, etc, as long as we know ahead of time. If you cannot volunteer for as long as 4-6 months, but you are really interested, please reach out and we can discuss what works for you.
